USA Gymnastics star Simone Biles returned to the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday after previously opting out of several events to focus on her mental health. By little surprise to anyone, the 24-year-old walked away with a bronze medal in the balance beam final.

But Simone Biles was solely focused on just going out there and having fun. A medal wasn't exactly on her mind.

“I wasn't expecting to walk away with a medal, I was just going out there to do this for me and whatever happens, happens,” Biles said, adding that it “just meant the world to be back out there.”

While it wasn't the usual gold she's used to winning, it's Biles' seventh Olympic medal, which ties her with Shannon Miller for the most by a US Gymnast ever.

Simone Biles also spoke out after the competition about “the twisties”, which she is unfortunately still dealing with. That resulted in her making her routine slightly easier, which likely played a part in not winning gold.

“Every time I watch the guys and the girls out there, I want to puke every time I watch them do a double-double [a move involving twists] because I cannot fathom how they're doing it,” Biles said.

China's Guan Chenchen and Tang Xijing captured gold and silver in the balance beam final. Major respect to Simone Biles for pushing through and competing through her mental health issues.
