Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is making his argument for this year's Heisman winner tough to fight. Young broke the Crimson Tide's single-game passing yards record that was set over 50 years ago. Bleacher Report tweeted the news during Alabama's win over Arkansas.

The sophomore at University of Alabama destroyed the previous record of 484 passing yards set by quarterback Scott Hunter in 1969. Saturday, Young threw for 559 yards and five touchdowns. His longest pass of the day was a 79 yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams.

Williams, a junior at Alabama, was one of Young's favorite target of the evening. He had eight receptions for 13 targets. He recorded a total of 190 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Williams now has ten touchdowns on the season.

Another favorite for Young is junior wide receiver John Metchie III. He was the target for 14 throws and completed ten. Metchie recorded 173 receiving yards and one touchdown in the Alabama win.

Some may question Young's legitimacy due to the amount of talent Alabama has surrounded him with. Even the great Joe Montana questioned the sophomore's potential to be successful in the NFL. But if this game says anything about Bryce Young's abilities, it's that he is capable of doing great things, regardless of the team around him. Of course, it helps to have receivers who can catch the ball, but it takes someone special to be able to read the football field the way Young has. There aren't many 20-year-old kids out there that can throw an accurate 79 yard pass to a receiver breaking double coverage.
