Red Bull team principal Christian Horner shares his bold strategy amid Max Verstappen's extended Formula 1 title lead.

Horner's team had a terrific weekend at the United States Grand Prix, Verstappen bagged another race win this season, and Sergio Perez managed to snatch P3. The Dutchman extends his lead to 12 points over Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton.

“You’ve got to attack,” said Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner.

“12 points is nothing and it can disappear very quickly as we have seen previously.”

“So we have to keep attacking the race weekends as we have been and get the most out of it we can. With five to go, the pressure only gets bigger.”

Indeed, the pressure rises as the end of the Formula 1 season nears. Red Bull fans shouldn't forget that Lewis Hamilton is a seven-time world champion—ultimately capable of performing when it matters most.

Moving forward, Horner recognizes the challenge ahead as Formula 1 is set to witness another exciting conclusion to another tremendous season.

“It’s very tight between the two teams and I hope that Mexico has been a good track for us, but it has been a good track for them as well. ”

“There are five races to go and there are still another 130 points on the table and we have only got a 12-point lead,” the Formula 1 boss stressed.

“It’s great to have extended it because with 10 laps to go it looked like we might be leaving equal or two behind, so to have extended the lead is a great result and we have got some big races coming up.”

Aside from dealing with Verstappen's title lead, Red Bull is down by 23 points to Mercedes in the Formula 1 constructor standings— with hopes of snatching the crown.
