The Indiana Pacers will be without forward Glenn Robinson III for the first two months of the season due to a severely sprained left ankle, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Robinson, 23, became a regular rotation player for the Pacers last season. He averaged 6.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 20.7 minutes over 69 games, with 27 starts. He also shot 39 percent on 3-pointers, which was third-best on the team.

Glenn Robinson III was expected to play a larger role at small forward this season following Paul George’s departure. Bojan Bogdanovic, who was signed to a two-year, $21 million deal this offseason, is now a virtual lock to start at small forward with his main competitor for the spot out injured.

With Robinson sidelined, Lance Stephenson might have to play an even bigger role off the bench as the primary backup for both Bogdanovic and Victor Oladipo. Veteran Damien Wilkins could also see more playing time than previously expected.

However, neither Stephenson nor Wilkins is the shooter that Robinson has developed into, which will be a concern for a Pacers team that was already lacking in three-point shooting after the departures of George, C.J. Miles, and Jeff Teague.
