New York Knicks guard RJ Barrett looked determined to detonate on the rim with a strong left-handed hammer. However, the league's best shot blocker had other plans. Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner met the Knicks youngster at the rim and turned him away with a massive swat.

Watch the elite defensive play from the 24-year old big man:

Barrett deserves some praise for confidently going in there against the best shot blocker in the NBA. Unfortunately, the Canadian suffered the same fate as many others have this season and saw his brave attempt to posterize Turner come back to bite him.

Turner leads the league in blocks in both blocks per game and total swats. Entering Saturday, the 6-foot-11 big man tallies 3.4 blocks per game and has turned away 99 total shots in 29 games this season. He added four more against New York. For comparison, Utah Jazz All-Star Rudy Gobert, this season's no. 2 shot blocker, has 90 total blocks and turns in 2.7 swats per contest and has done his damage in 33 games.

Unfortunately for Turner, his highlight defensive play came in a 110-107 losing effort to the Knicks. Along with his four blocks, Turner finished his night with 11 points and four rebounds, but shot just 5-of-14 from the field, including 1-of-8 from beyond the arc.
