Following the conclusion of the Finals, the 2022 NBA Offseason is officially underway. Unfortunately for the Indiana Pacers, their offseason began at the end of the regular season, after failing to make the postseason tournament.

Despite the team's extra time off, they have yet to figure out a game plan for Myles Turner. Just a few days ago, it seemed like Turner was waiting to negotiate a contract extension. Now, rumor has it that he wants to stay in Indiana.

That's according to HoopsHype, which reported that Turner wants to continue his career with the Pacers, alongside Tyrese Haliburton. The team acquired Haliburton in their February trade with the Sacramento Kings. However, because of Turner's long-term foot injury, the pair never got the chance to play with one another.

HoopsHype also notes that moving forward, Turner would have a chance to play a larger role for Indiana, which is what he wants. This is because Domantas Sabonis is out of the picture, as he was one of the players traded to the Kings in exchange for Haliburton.

The Sacramento trade is exactly what Turner needed for his career in Indiana to work. By this logic, it would make sense for him to stay with the Pacers past 2023. Now, he just has to figure out a way to solidify his future with the Pacers and avoid being part of a trade himself.
