The Green Bay Packers are now sitting at .500 after a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 13 and are one step closer to getting their superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers back under center.

After working his way back from a broken collarbone, Rodgers has been activated by the team and will continue to take steps to prepare for his return to the gridiron on Dec. 17 against the Carolina Panthers, via ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Aaron Rodgers, who was activated off injured reserve Saturday, will go through a “trial practice week” by primarily serving as the scout team quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, according to a team source.

In the meantime, the Packers will continue to go with Brett Hundley as their starting quarterback under center. As expected, Green Bay has struggled without Rodgers leading the way with the team has losing five of the last seven games.

Fortunately for the Packers, clinching a playoff spot in the NFC is still a possibility for Green Bay. The Minnesota Vikings are running away with the NFC North division at 10-2, but if the Packers can stay afloat in the coming weeks, it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that they could be postseason bound with a healthy Rodgers back in the fold.

In Week 14, Hundley will lead the charge for the Packers as they go head-to-head with the Cleveland Browns on the road. Then the final three weeks of the regular season will be tough for Green Bay as they're set to take on the Panthers followed by the Vikings and Detroit Lions.
