The Green Bay Packers made a splash this offseason with the signing of tight end Jimmy Graham. It seems he has already made quite the impression on quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Green Bay's moves have come with its fair share of mixed reviews. However, according to Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report, Rodgers has high expectations for Graham and the Packers' offense in the 2018 NFL season:

“On paper … this offense could be incredible,” Rodgers said. “We just have to keep proving it. The [2011] offense was very dynamic, but this year we have the X-factor in Jimmy. He understands [defenses] so well. He can catch anything, and he’s impossible to cover.”

Rodgers' comparison to the offense in 2011 may be a bit of a stretch. However, it is indicative of the confidence he has in the personnel. They also come as a bit of a surprise considering the Packers parted ways with one integral member from that group this offseason in wide receiver Jordy Nelson. Furthermore, rumors have surfaced about Green Bay's interest in trading wide receiver Randall Cobb as well.

Regardless, there is no question that the addition of Graham has added a new dynamic to the offense. His size and athleticism make him a matchup nightmare for opposing defenders. Although his numbers took a dip during his tenure with the Seattle Seahawks, he still maintained his status as one of the best red zone targets in the NFL. Graham is likely to continue that trend now that he is playing alongside Rodgers. As great a quarterback as Russell Wilson is, there are few gunslingers in history that throw it with the kind of precision that the Packers' star does.
