This offseason, the Green Bay Packers signed Adrian Amos to a four-year, $36 million contract. Amos replaces Haha Clinton-Dix, whom the Packers traded last season before the NFL trade deadline.

Recently, Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports ranked the NFL safeties: Amos was ranked as the eighth-best safety in the NFL. The Packers could use the same Amos who played for the Chicago Bears in 2018, as Benjamin alluded to.

“The Packers are paying him to be borderline elite when, in reality, he's probably just “pretty good.” Then again, that's probably good enough for his No. 8 spot here when you look around the league. Even a repeat of his 2018 performance (73 tackles, 2 INTs) will really help Green Bay.”

The Bears took Amos with the 142nd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Amos quickly became a reliable starter for the Bears; last season, the safety had his best year in the NFL.

In 2018, Amos had 73 total tackles, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery. Yes, the Bears replaced Amos with Clinton-Dix and the Packers replaced Clinton-Dix with Amos.

Last season, the Packers struggled to get interceptions as a defense. Green Bay ranked 29th in the NFL with just seven interceptions in 2018. Adding Amos can hopefully help the Packers in that department. Brian Gutekunst—the Packers' GM—raved about the addition of Amos.
