The Green Bay Packers have two young running backs in Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. However, they still haven't figured out which one should be promoted to the RB1 position now that they're three weeks into the season.

Head coach Matt LaFleur finds the two running backs similar when it comes to their games that he finds it difficult to designate which one will be his long-term starter. For now, he's taking things one game at a time.

Per Ryan Wood in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:

“I think each game can dictate how much he's going to carry the ball,” LaFleur said. “But I think all in all, I mean, that is a pretty physical position, and we'd like to keep a good balance between him and Jamaal (Williams), because we think Jamaal is a pretty darn good back as well. So we'd like to even out those touches a little bit.”

Both Jones and Williams started their career with the Packers and have had varying results. Williams had the better rookie year, gaining a total of 818 total yards compared to Jones' 470. However, Jones broke out during year two. He only played 12 games but totaled 728 rushing yards. He led the NFL in rushing yards per attempt last season.

However, the running game isn't the only department the first-year coach is experiencing problems. He was also caught having a shouting match with Aaron Rodgers. While they have since clarified that it was nothing personal, it still paints a picture of how the team is still stumbling to find their identity under LaFleur.
