Last week's episode of Game of Thrones featured a misplaced Starbucks cup. This week's featured a quarterback. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers made a cameo appearance in the second-to-last episode of Game of Thrones, which aired Sunday night on HBO.

Rodgers briefly appeared as a resident of Kings Landing, who attempted to find cover during Daenerys Targaryen’s dragon-led siege of the city. But like many characters on the popular show, the Super Bowl champ and two-time MVP was rewarded with a painful death.

“I was helping a woman, who was injured… then the hell with her, I’m getting out of there,” Rodgers said during a behind-the-scenes feature discussing his role.

Rodgers had teased his appearance for weeks with the #episode5shouldbegood hashtag, and was coy discussing whether he’d been asked to appear on the show during a 2018 interview on the Dan Patrick Show.

Last month, following the second episode of the final season, while cautioning fans from spreading spoilers, he teased that there was a very exciting episode coming up.

“24 hour rule still applies folks, for all those who thought there were better things to do tonight than watch @GameOfThrones,” he tweeted, before sharing that he wasn’t one of them.

Many people on the internet also thought they saw him as a soldier, as pictured here.

“It was just for a few seconds, but I’ll always be thankful to have been on the penultimate episode of @gameofthrones,” Rodgers wrote on Instagram Sunday night.

Perhaps we haven't seen the last of Rodgers' acting career. Maybe this was just the beginning. We can only hope to see him get more into the scene.
