Adam Thielen is the newest wide receiver on the Carolina Panthers, and one of the reasons he chose the franchise is because he strongly believes the team can win a Super Bowl, he said on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday.

“Ultimately, [I felt Carolina] was a place that seriously had a chance of winning a Super Bowl. I really do feel strongly with that,” Thielen told McAfee.

The longtime Minnesota Viking also had conversations with the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos, but he believes Carolina has the best chance out of the three to win a ring, and is the best location for his family.

“At the end of the day, I wanted to go to a good situation for my family and for myself. The Panthers just felt like the best fit,” Thielen explained. “It all kind of just worked out, it happened kind of quickly…it just kind of all came at once. My family, my wife, my kids, we're so excited to go there, we're headed there tomorrow as a family to go sign and check out the city so we're excited.”

After signing as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings and playing the first 10 years of his career there, the two-time Pro Bowler was released in the offseason. He agreed to a three-year deal with the Panthers on Sunday evening.
