This season has been characterized by the inability of Frank Reich to get wins for the Bryce Young-led Carolina Panthers, his firing, to the turnover to Chris Tabor. The roster has remained fairly the same with individuals like Brian Burns trying their best to keep the team afloat. After a scoreless season-ender against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they now have a chance to reflect on the two-win campaign. The defensive end unveiled his most-feared situation, via Joe Person of The Athletic.
“Dealing with what I was dealing with in camp, I was terrified to get hurt,” Brian Burns said.
He went into further detail about the situations that made him fear getting injured in the Panthers system, “I don’t wanna say that. But, in the back of my head, probably sometimes. Being transparent, I wouldn’t say it’s nothing I’m proud of but it’s human nature.”
Burns will end the season with 15 losses alongside Bryce Young in the Panthers system. Chris Tabor had already confirmed moves that are coming for the offseason. But, those may still never erase how atrocious this stretch of games has been for them.
In their last game of the season, nothing was clicking for the Panthers. They ended all four quarters without having scored at all. Hopefully, all of this could change down the line. They surely need better decisions and a better groove for everyone in the organization. Now, they could just take a sigh of relief as the nightmare of a season finally came to a close despite a loss to the Buccaneers.
