The Carolina Panthers went back to utilizing just one single quarterback for Sunday's matchup against the Buffalo Bills, but the results for Matt Rhule's squad were much of the same. The 31-14 loss saw minimal success out of the passing game, and when quarterback Cam Newton was asked about the problem after the game, he gave a rather concerning three-word response, via Jonathan M. Alexander.

Plain and simple, Newton is just as clueless as Panthers fans are when it comes to what's going wrong with the offense. Despite reverting back to Newton as the sole man under center, the veteran QB completed just 18-of-38 pass attempts for 158 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

While Newton did manage to make something happen, providing both a passing and a rushing touchdown, the Panthers' offense was disappointing overall, and failed to threaten the Bills who held a comfortable lead throughout the game.

When it comes to potential fixes to the struggling aerial attack, Newton offered about as little reason for optimism as possible. The veteran quarterback was certainly thrilled to be back in Carolina following his release from the Patriots at the start of the season, but things haven't gone to plan and the storybook return for the former MVP is quickly turning into a nightmare situation.

Since stepping back into action with the Panthers, Newton has not recorded a win and has thrown just four touchdowns and four interceptions. He's proven capable on the ground, however, racking up a rushing touchdown in each of his first five games since rejoining the club.
