At the end of Sunday's game between the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins, Dolphins players attempted to snatch Cam Newton's gold chain. Following the peculiar interaction, Newton responded to members of the Dolphins attempting to grab his gold chain.

“From where I am from, that's just a sign of disrespect,” the Atlanta native said on WEEI's The Greg Hill Show. “I am all about keeping everything within the confines of the game. … Good thing I went to a good jeweler and got the credentials. They didn't do too much damage.”

In his debut with the Patriots, Newton thrived in Josh McDaniels' offense as he was able to excel with his legs. The former NFL MVP completed 15 of his 19 passes for 155 yards and he scampered for 75 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

It was quite the entrance for Newton in New England, setting a franchise record for rushing yards by a quarterback. With that being said, when the game was concluding, members of Miami's roster were involved in a scrum with Newton. While exchanging pleasantries words to one another, some players on the Dolphins reached for Newton's gold chain around his neck.

Throughout the years, we've seen Michael Crabtree have awful luck in losing his chain when facing Aqib Talib. Fortunately for Newton, as he pointed out, his chain was able to remain around his neck despite the efforts of Miami's players. Given the awkward exchange between the dual-threat quarterback and the Dolphins, the second matchup between Miami and New England in December could have some fireworks.
