We are just one week into the 2019 NFL campaign, but Fox Sports analyst and Hall of Fame wide receiver already thinks the race in the AFC is over.

Following the New England Patriots' blowout win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, Carter thinks the conference is already a wrap, saying that the Patriots will finish atop the AFC:

It should be noted that Carter didn't say anything about the Super Bowl, but it seems like he thinks the Patriots will also be representing the AFC in February.

New England thumped Pittsburgh by a score of 33-3 behind 341 yards and three touchdowns from Tom Brady, two of which went to Phillip Dorsett.

Keep in mind, the Pats were playing this game without recent addition Antonio Brown, who seems likely to join the team next week when it takes on the lowly Miami Dolphins on the road.

The Patriots are aiming to make their fourth straight Super Bowl appearance and are seeking their third championship during that span. They are also looking for their seventh title overall.

In addition, New England seems primed to capture its 11th straight AFC East division title and 16th in the last 17 years. The only year the Pats did not win the division during that period of time? It occurred back in 2008, when Brady suffered a torn ACL in Week 1.

The Patriots went from having a questionable receiving corps to now having a group of Brown, Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon, which may very well be the best group of wide receivers in the NFL.
