After the New England Patriots have recovered from their Super Bowl-winning hangover, it's back to business for Bill Belichick and Co. to revamp the team's roster for yet another title-winning run in 2019.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Patriots were rumored to be in the running for the services of Oakland Raiders tight end Jared Cook. However, the New Orleans Saints have the upper hand in that matter as they've already scheduled a meeting with Cook on Thursday.

Apart from that, the Pats are still awaiting Rob Gronkowski's decision on whether or not the Hall of Fame-bound tight end will retire from football or return to action for another season.

With that in mind, New England looked at its current roster and locked down one of its offensice contributors before losing yet another piece to the puzzle.

Ian Rapoport was first to break the news that wide receiver Phillip Dorsett would be returning to Foxborough for another year:

Although Dorsett's numbers from last season aren't that impressive, he did prove to be a dependable target in the end zone by hauling in a career-best three touchdowns.

On the other hand, the Miami product did end up with an average of less than 10 yards per catch for the first time in his four-year NFL career.

Nonetheless, the Patriots were right to consider keeping the 26-year-old Dorsett on their roster given how volatile their other wide receivers were last year outside of Julian Edelman. Chris Hogan failed to breakout yet again, and Josh Gordon's impressive showing isn't enough to offset his off-field problems.
