Pro Football Focus has put out their list of players for each team to target during the 2020 offseason, and one player the New England Patriots have listed as a target is Antonio Brown. Brown played for one game with the Patriots during the 2019 season and he caught four passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.

With all the off the field issues surrounding Brown, the team decided to release him, but there are still a lot who question what this season could have been if the team would have kept him.

The Patriots need to bring in a star wide receiver this offseason, and PFF thinks if they miss out on someone like A.J. Green,  Brown could make a lot of sense.

“If they aren’t available, the next best option — assuming all of the field stuff is done with — is Antonio Brown. Talking strictly on-the-field performance, Brown was obviously one of the best to play the game — he finished in the top five among wide receivers in PFF grade in every season from 2013-17. He played in one game for New England in 2019 and finished that with an elite 90.0 overall grade. Again, this is assuming all the off-the-field issues are no longer an issue.”

The key phrase is if all the off-the-field issues are behind him. Brown is very close to not having a chance to continue in the NFL so hopefully, he can turn around his ways soon. If he can turn it around, he does make a lot of sense on the Patriots.
