Besides Tom Brady, the New England Patriots have other notable names hitting free agency, including Phillip Dorsett. With free agency right around the corner, Dorsett spoke out on how he's planning on approaching free agency:

“I would say that will probably be a little different,” said Dorsett via Mike Reiss of ESPN, who is one of a handful of Patriots free agents whose status has been overshadowed by quarterback Tom Brady's. “Last year, I had my heart set on where I wanted to go and I didn't have an open mind. This year, I know I have to go into it with an open mind.”

Last offseason, Dorsett was in a similar situation as he was contemplating where to play in 2019. After considering his options, Dorsett chose to remain with the Patriots on a one-year, $2.6 million deal.

In the first four weeks of the 2019 season, Dorsett saw an expanded role in the offense in 2019. The former first-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts was able to record 15 receptions for 197 yards and three touchdowns in New England's first four contests.

But then Dorsett saw his role change as the season continued to progress. Over the course of his next 10 games, Dorsett would manage to catch only 14 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns for the Patriots.

Now, after a year where he saw an inconsistent role in the offense, Dorsett is keeping all of his options open in free agency. However, due to the need to re-sign other players, it's unlikely that Dorsett remains in New England.

Seeing that he's 27-years-old and was a former first-round pick, Dorsett should draw some interest from a few teams on the open market.
