The New England Patriots took some major hits this offseason, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Things took a turn for the worst when tight end Rob Gronkowski was hesitant to confirm his status for the 2018 NFL season.

He has still managed to capture headlines by living his best life off the field. However, it seems he has finally committed to playing another year, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter:

Patriots’ TE Rob Gronkowski and his agent Drew Rosenhaus met today with Bill Belichick, and told him that Gronkowski is playing this season for the Patriots. “It was very positive and Rob is committed,” Rosenhaus said. There will be no Gronkowski trade this season.

Patriots fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing their superstar is ready to give it another go. Meanwhile, the coaching staff can relax knowing that they will have one of the league's best pass-catchers back in the fold for next season.
It was a rough start to the offseason for Gronkowski, to say the least. He had returned from a loss in Super Bowl LII only to find his home had been robbed. Needless to say, the unfortunate turn of events had taken a toll on Gronkowski and he even announced that he was considering retirement. This likely caused panic within the Patriots' organization as reports surfaced about them potentially fielding trade offers for the five-time Pro Bowler.
Fortunately, it appears he is all in on playing his ninth season. New England parted ways with their top two wide receivers from the 2017 campaign. Although they have brought in a stable of other wideouts to help fill the void, it is likely that Gronkowski is poised for another heavy workload.
