Legendary New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski retired earlier this offseason, but there has always been a sneaking suspicion that he wasn't really done.

Well, cue all of the doubters and eyebrow raisers, as Gronkowski has apparently been catching passes from Tom Brady this offseason.

According to Andrew Callahan of Mass Live, the 30-year-old had a session with Brady during a private workout at UCLA on Monday. Gronkowski is out in California for a charity event, but him working out with Brady will certainly garner a whole lot of attention.

Gronkowski appeared on The Rich Eisen Show last week, and while he said he was enjoying his retirement, he does seem like he knows he is going to miss the game.

“There’s definitely going to be times when you miss it and everything, said Gronkowski. “I mean I can’t really say how I’m going to feel about it when the games start rolling around and everything.”

Couple that with the fact that Gronkowski added that the Patriots should “call me when you get to the playoffs,” and there is going to be a whole lot of speculation about a potential Gronk return at some point this coming season.

While all of this probably means nothing, a Gronkowski comeback is hardly out of the realm of possibility, as he is hardly old. Still, there is no doubting that football has taken a toll on his body.

Gronkowski hauled in 47 receptions for 682 yards and three touchdowns in 2018, which was certainly a down year for him.
