Rob Gronkowski wants the smoke with Jamal Adams, especially after the New York Jets safety tackled Pat Patriot during the Pro Bowl.
We'll recall that last week, Jamal Adams did what we all have — internally — been dying to do. During a Pro Bowl practice, Pat Patriot — the New England Patriots mascot — appeared on the field. And, true to form, Adams ran 20 feet up the field to tackle the hapless mascot, doing it for all of us like a true gangsta.
Unfortunately, even though things ended on a high note — the mascot tackled Adams, and the duo declared a draw — Rob Gronkowski wasn't too happy with the way things turned out.
“I saw that. It wasn’t very nice. We’re going to have to figure a way out to get the revenge. I mean, that was not nice what he did. I heard the guy got seriously hurt.”
To be fair to the Gronk, the mascot did seem to roll around in pain after Adams hit him with his full weight (which is what any of us would do in that same circumstance, frankly). And it's not the mascot's fault that Tom Brady is so universally insufferable, especially as he continues his “poor unfortunate me” press tour to promote his team.
All that said, it's safe to say that both Adams and Pat Patriot took it all in good fun, in the end. And Rob Gronkowski may be better served to focus his immediate efforts on the Super Bowl, which will be taking place this Sunday.
