The New England Patriots are 3-0. They haven't allowed a touchdown. Their offense has been brilliant. But because of their involvement with Antonio Brown, they have not been able to enjoy their fast start, with Tom Brady even going as far to say that this season has been trying thus far.
“It’s a difficult year,” said Brady, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “We’re all faced with different adversities, different teams at different times. We’ve had our fair share and we are going to do our very best to overcome whatever is presented in front of us the entire season.”
Of course, the Patriots signed Brown just before Week 1. It was then revealed that Brown was facing rape allegations, and shortly after, another report surfaced of a woman accusing him of sexual misconduct. Brown then sent what were characterized as threatening text messages to the woman, and he was then released by New England.
As for Brady? He says he is just trying to do his job.
“The reality is I don’t make any personnel decisions,” said Brady. “I don’t decide to sign players. I don’t decide to trade them. I don’t decide to release them. I don’t decide to draft them. I don’t get asked. I show up and I do my job. I’m an employee like everyone else. I’m going to show up this week and do the best I can do as quarterback.”
Through the first three weeks, Brady has thrown for 911 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 67.9 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 116.5.
The Patriots will head on the road to take on the Buffalo Bills next Sunday.
