In the past few days, much has been said about the condition of Tom Brady's right hand that he reportedly suffered an injury to earlier this week.

This has pushed the New England Patriots to label him as questionable for the AFC Championship game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. According to ESPN Stats & Info, this marks the first time in his career that he has been questionable for a playoff game.

Aside from a torn ACL injury that he suffered in the season opener of the 2008 season, Brady has proven to be quite a durable player. Since taking over the starting job back in 2001, he has started every other contest that he has been eligible to play while playing all 16 regular-season games 14 times.

However, this situation with his right hand has become quite different than any other injury that Brady has handled in recent years. It has been reported that he cut a gash on his right thumb when his hand hit off a teammate's helmet in practice on Wednesday that led to him require a few stitches.

All of this may have led to Brady donning gloves to hide the injury while allowing him to get used to playing with a glove on for Sunday's game. This also saw him wear them during his first media availability of the week on Friday. In that same press conference, he chose to avoid any questions about the condition of his right hand.

There is the expectation that the 40-year-old will be under center against the Jaguars. Beyond his hand injury, Jacksonville will present a difficult challenge as they possess arguably the best defensive unit in the league that finished the regular season ranked first against the pass. They also were second with 55 sacks trailing only the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Meanwhile, Brady is still playing at a high level coming off a strong outing in the divisional round against the Tennessee Titans where he threw for 337 yards with three touchdowns. All of this should make for an entertaining matchup between two formidable teams with a trip to Super Bowl LII on the line.
