The New England Patriots suffered their second straight loss on Sunday, falling to the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 23-17.

The Patriots are still 10-3 on the season, but in spite of their record, there are clearly a lot of problems with the roster. New England has been struggling mightily offensively for the last five weeks and has gone just 2-3 during that span.

But the Pats also had to battle the referees against the Chiefs, as numerous calls went against the Patriots, including a N'Keal Harry touchdown that was wiped away because officials erroneously ruled that he stepped out of bounds at the 3-yard line.

Still, Tom Brady doesn't want to hear any excuses:

“We’re just trying to keep grinding them out and tried to put ourselves in a position there at the end with four plays in the red area and just didn’t produce well enough to get the job done,” Brady said on The Greg Hill Show on WEEI Monday morning. “I don’t ever make any excuses and I’d certainly never blame the referees. I just look at what we’ve got to do and how we have to get back to work this week and find a way to go to Cincinnati and get a win.”

Brady completed just 19 of his 36 passes for 169 yards, a touchdown and an interception on a day where he and the rest of New England's offense were booed by the home crowd at Gillette Stadium.

The Pats will get a chance to right their laboring offense against an abysmal Cincinnati Bengals defense next week.
