Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller congratulated Cam Newton on signing with the New England Patriots on Tuesday night, but he also gave him a winking heads up while at it.

As you can see, Miller is clearly a fan and believer of Newton, though the two have met in huge games such as Super Bowl 50, which people on Twitter were unbearably swift to point out.

For what it's worth, in the said Super Bowl showdown, the swarming Broncos defense (typified by Miller) produced seven sacks and forced four turnovers. Miller had 2.5 of those sacks on his own, and he also forced two fumbles with some bone-crushing hits on Newton.

In his ninth season last year, the new Patriots QB barely played for the Carolina Panthers after becoming the team’s all-time leader in approximate value at 123. Cam Newton was brilliant throughout his Panthers career, perhaps headlined by a staggering 2015 campaign in which he won MVP and led the team to a 15-1 record.

Newton’s most impressive weapon (beyond his cannon arm) is his rushing ability, which sees him ranked as the leader among active players in yards per rush attempt at 5.1. Beyond leading all current players, that number is also sixth all-time.

Aside from those numbers, he is a prolific scorer on the ground too, as his chiseled 6-foot-5 frame makes him a tough target to bring down around the goal line. As such, he is sixth among active players in rushing touchdowns with 58.

Those are some gaudy numbers, and yet the Patriots were able to nab the three-time Pro-Bowler on a deal that maxes out at $7.5 million for one year – a veritable bargain.
