Damian Lillard launched a deep shot over the outstretched arms of Paul George just as time expired. Splash, series over.

The Portland Trail Blazers eliminated the Oklahoma City Thunder via a 37-foot bomb from Lillard. After the dagger, the 5-time All-Star walked off and waved Oklahoma City's season goodbye, almost referencing what ended up becoming PG13's final game in a Thunder uniform.

George called it a bad shot. Lillard said it was bad defense. That's where the root of all the post-game drama between the Blazers and Los Angeles Clippers came from following Saturday night's heated clash, where the Clips won, 122-117.

The Blazers superstar could have given Portland the lead with two crucial free throws late in the game. Instead, Clippers guard Patrick Beverley, who sat out the night, taunted and jeered on the sidelines as Lillard, a career 88.9 percent shooter from the foul line, uncharacteristically missed the two freebies.

Beverley mocked Lillard's signature Dame Time celebration. The unfiltered guard later waved him goodbye in reference to Lillard's wave to send OKC home in last year's playoffs.

Following the game, Damian Lillard reacted to Beverley's antics, reminding everyone of the time he sent Beverley home packing when he knocked down a similar series-clinching three against the Houston Rockets back in 2014. Of course, he didn't forget to mention his dagger over PG13 the year before.

After seeing Damian Lillard's post-game comments, George took a jab on Instagram at how Portland's season may end up this year. This ignited a testy back-and-forth between the two stars on social media.

Damian Lillard fired back and criticized George for always switching teams. Of course, many feel that Lillard is directly responsible for ending PG13's stint in Oklahoma City. George later requested a trade from the Thunder that summer, just a year after signing a 4-year deal in 2018.

George answered back by claiming his stint with the Indiana Pacers was much better than Damian Lillard's entire career with Portland.

Damian Lillard and Paul George have each been to the conference finals. Likewise, the two have been to multiple All-Star teams and made numerous All-NBA selections. Unfortunately, they also haven't made the NBA Finals and are still searching for that elusive NBA championship.

Damian Lillard, or perhaps Dame DOLLA, later posted on Instagram what appears to be a warning shot to PG13.

Clearly, there's no love lost between Damian Lillard and Paul George. Last year's memories are still vividly on their minds.

Unfortunately, we may not see any more developments of this brewing clash between Dame and PG13. The Los Angeles Clippers are currently the second seed, while the Blazers are still fighting for the eighth and final postseason berth in the Western Conference. The only way that these two can face off in the playoffs is in the conference finals, which seems unlikely.

Hopefully, the NBA incorporates Damian Lillard's suggestion of creating a 1-on-1 tournament during the All-Star weekend. Maybe he and George can go at it so they can settle this in the best way possible: mano-y-mano on the basketball court.
