After seven incredible seasons in Turin, Paulo Dybala's time at Juventus is officially over. He said an emotional goodbye to the Juventus fans at his final home game on Monday, and now he looks forward to a new challenge at a new club, potentially in a new league as well. The 28-year-old Argentine will undoubtedly be courted by several of Europe's top clubs, and he'll have his pick of the litter of them.

Several factors often go into a player's decision on a new club as a free agent. League familiarity, coaching connections, proximity to the player's current home, pay scale; all of these will play a role in Dybala's decision, and there are clubs that fit every one of them. Here's the two most intriguing destinations for Paulo Dybala this summer.

Paulo Dybala summer transfer window destinations

1. AS Roma

This club checks a few boxes for Dybala. He's very familiar with Serie A, as he's never played anywhere else. Rome isn't very far from Turin, and Roma could pay competitive wages. In fact, a report from La Repubblica asserted that Roma are currently the favorites to land Dybala. It would be an interesting fit in Jose Mourinho's squad for Dybala, but one he may very well flourish in, and he may find himself developing quite the connection with Tammy Abraham, who himself has flourished in Rome.

Not ideal though, for Roma, is their lack of Champions League play next season. Depending on both the results of the final day in Serie A, and the Europa Conference League Final, Roma may be back in the Conference League, or in the Europa League next season. Champions League play is often a tiebreaker between clubs, so Roma may have to step up other parts of their pitch to Dybala if they are to land him.

It would be a massive get for Roma if they can pull it off, they really haven't had a player of near Dybala's caliber since Francesco Totti retired in 2017, and a signing like that has the potential to completely change a club's fortunes. Roma has had financial difficulties in recent years, even playing without a shirt sponsor the last three, but a signing like Dybala would undoubtedly bring both eyeballs and wallets back to Roma for the first time in years.

2. Tottenham Hotspur

The league and city may be unfamiliar, but not much else about this move would be for Dybala. Here's a quick rundown of the connections Dybala has to current members of the Tottenham staff or squad. His best friend is current Spurs player Rodrigo Bentancur, he was teammates with Dejan Kulusevski at Juve, is teammates with Sergio Romero at the international level with Argentina, and current Director of Football Fabio Paratici was instrumental in the signing of Dybala to Juve from Palermo in 2015. Not to mention, Dybala is also undoubtedly familiar with Antonio Conte, having played against his teams both at Palermo and Juve.

The potential connection between Dybala and arguably the best attacking duo in the world right now in Harry Kane and Heung-min Son must have Spurs fans the world round salivating, not to mention what Antonio Conte must be feeling. A combined goals and assists tally between the three of them in 2021 across all competitions would be an absolutely astounding 61 goals and 23 assists. That's with Dybala playing in a completely different league as well, the linkup between the three of them may produce even more gaudy statistical tallies.

Another bargaining chip Spurs may have over other suitors is they likely will be playing in the Champions League next season, only needing a draw on the final day to secure fourth place. As mentioned earlier Champions League play is often huge in signing big players and Spurs seem to have it locked up after jumping their North London rivals Arsenal in recent weeks to grab fourth place. Spurs would also likely be able to offer more salary to Dybala than most other clubs, with plenty of cash in the war chest for the summer and an ultra wealthy owner happy to supply it.

This summer is all about building for Kane and Son's prime for Spurs, and signing Dybala may vault them to the next level where they can join the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea in contending for any and every trophy they come across. It's been a long fifteen years for Spurs fans since their last trophy, the League Cup in 2007/08, but the kind of ambition shown by targeting players like Dybala is sure to bring silverware back to North London one way or another.
