Young Pelicans guard Bryce Dejean-Jones passed away today at the age of 23. The Pelicans released a statement just a couple of hours ago:

Dejean-Jones was fatally shot in the abdomen and bled to death. He was reportedly trying to break into an apartment of an “estranged acquaintance“, but instead was breaking into a different apartment, which is where he was shot.

Bryce Dejean-Jones signed a 3-year contract with the Pelicans before suffering a season ending injury this past season. Our prayers are with Bryce's family as they deal with this tragedy.
