New Orleans Pelicans No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson says head coach Alvin Gentry wants him to push the ball in transition by himself if he gets the defensive rebound.

Gentry wants the Pelicans to play fast this season with Williamson and Lonzo Ball in the fold.

Williamson is going to be a monster in the open court. No one is going to want to step in front of him and take a charge. As we saw at Duke, Zion is a high-flyer who can get to the rim at will and finish in heavy traffic with ease.

With Ball and Jrue Holiday as his point guards, Williamson is going to get a lot of easy looks this season with the Pelicans. Both Ball and Holiday are elite passers and guys who can collapse the defense with their penetration. We could see a Lob City 2.0 featuring Ball and Zion in New Orleans.

Williamson averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists this past season at Duke. He shot 68.0 percent from the field, 33.8 percent from beyond the arc and 64.0 percent from the free-throw line. Zion's perimeter game will have to improve, but the kid is a hard worker who will stay in the gym and work on his game.
