TMZ Sports has posted body cam footage from the July arrest of New Orleans Pelicans center Jaxson Hayes.

Here it is:

In the video, LAPD cops can be seen approaching the Pelicans big man outside a home, which is Hayes' girlfriend's house in Los Angeles. Here's how the situation began:

The video starts with cops approaching 6'11, 220-pound Hayes outside his GF's L.A. house — after a woman called 911, claiming she received “disturbing” texts from her cousin who claimed Hayes was “getting loud and violent,” adding she was “scared and couldn't call the police herself.”

Jaxson Hayes didn't want the cops to enter the home, and when he tried to get in himself, he was blocked from entry. The police tried to arrest Hayes, but he resisted and pushed one of the officers into a wall.

The cops then got physical with Hayes and wrestled him to the ground, and he can be heard on the video saying he was struggling to breath. The Pelicans youngster was then tased multiple times and ultimately arrested. He was charged with resisting arrest.

There are currently investigations open against Jaxson Hayes and the police for possible use of excessive force. The LAPD union wants Hayes to face punishment for his actions, but the NBA hasn't done anything yet.

The 21-year-old appeared in 60 games for the Pelicans this past season. Jaxson Hayes averaged 7.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in 16.1 minutes per game. He shot 62.5% from the field.
