Pelicans fans across the NBA were ecstatic with the news of star center DeMarcus Cousins being traded to the team during the 2016-17 season. With the addition of Cousins, the Pelicans saw potential to have the most dominant front-court since Tim Duncan and David Robinson, as Anthony Davis had taken the NBA by storm with his athleticism and ability to dominate the big man position.

However, the opportunity to witness Cousins and Davis cause problems for other teams was cut short when DeMarcus suffered a torn Achilles in a game against the Houston Rockets this past season. As a result, Cousins missed the Pelicans' inspiring playoff run and may have raised questions as to whether or not Cousins' presence against the Golden State Warriors in the second round could have changed the complexion of the series.

Nevertheless, Cousins has been making good progress since suffering the injury, and his latest video suggests that he's fighting hard to get back. Cousins took to Twitter to post a video of himself training and running on a treadmill. Slowly but surely, Cousins is getting back to being able to do what he used to.

It is beyond exciting to see Cousins making progress, preparing himself for the upcoming 2018-2019 season. He's an unrestricted free agent this summer, but many are expecting him to return to the New Orleans Pelicans to make another lengthy run at a title alongside Anthony Davis. He's one of the most tantalizing big men in the NBA thanks to his incredible versatility on both ends of the court.

Before going down with his injury, Cousins averaged 25.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.6 blocks, and 2.2 three-pointers per game on 47 percent shooting from the field and 35.4 percent from beyond the arc.
