The New Orleans Pelicans are going to be a problem next season. After a rocky start last year, the Pels stormed their way to the playoffs, earning a lot of fans in the process. They eventually lost in the first-round, but the promise is still there for this squad. That's doubly true when you realize that Zion Williamson didn't even suit up last year.

In the 2022 NBA draft, the Pelicans landed one of the best fits for their roster, nabbing rookie Dyson Daniels. The switchable forward projects as a Swiss Army knife on defense, similar to Herb Jones. Speaking to SiriusXM Radio, Daniels professed his excitement to play for NOLA, and had one simple message.

“It's going to be scary for next year.”

The Pelicans are a way better spot than they were a year ago. Around this time last year, there was a lot of uncertainty surrounding their future. Has Brandon Ingram reached his peak? Will Zion Williamson even stay after this year? It was a rough time to be a NOLA fan, and their horrid start made everything worse.

Thankfully, the Pelicans course-corrected midway through the season. The addition of CJ McCollum and the emergence of Jones and Jose Alvarado breathed new life into this team. Now, they are one of the most tantalizing rosters in the NBA. As an added bonus, Zion has professed his desire to stay with NOLA!

As Daniels said, it's about to get spooky in New Orleans next season. The Pels have the makings of a potentially great roster here. It will be up to Williamson, Daniels, and Ingram to carry this team to the promised land.
