Over the past 48 hours, much of the talk surrounding the NBA was the trade request of New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis, and while everyone is wondering what's going to happen within the next week, Pelicans big man Jahlil Okafor says that the team remains focused on the regular season.

A lot of people are curious about how Davis' trade request will affect the Pels' locker room. Okafor shed some light into that matter in a postgame interview following New Orleans' 121-116 victory over the Houston Rockets.

“It wasn't no drama to us. A.D.'s here. He took us all to dinner last night. There's not really any drama for us. I know there's a lot of noise on the outside, but in the locker room we're still all together. We still love A.D. He still loves us. … So we're all great.”

Davis sat out his fifth straight game due to a strained finger. Okafor has greatly benefited from AD's absence, as he put up 27 points and 12 rebounds against the Rockets Tuesday night.

Over the last five games, the former third overall pick has been averaging 21.2 points and 11 rebounds.

Okafor's recent performance are starting to be noticed by a lot of fans, and as the trade drama involving Davis continues, people are starting to believe that Jahlil can take over his place and become a long-term part of the Pelicans' future.

Okafor has struggled so far in his first few years in the NBA, and is just starting to rejuvenate his career.

A potential Davis trade could give him more opportunities to show the league what he can do.
