Time is of the essence for the New Orleans Pelicans' front office as they are already feeling the pressure of the impending Anthony Davis free agency in 2020. With rumors already swirling, Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday is blocking out all the Davis trade noise to focus on improving the team's current 15-17 win-loss card.

NBA.com's Steve Aschburner wrote about how opponents have been trying to woo Davis into playing with them and how Holiday is trying to block out the unnecessary noise:

“I mean, everybody wants to [have Davis on their team],” Holiday said. “I don’t know anybody who doesn’t. To us, he’s our franchise player. He’s top three in the world.”

Is it distracting to hear and read media speculation about Davis potentially leaving?

“Nah. I feel like, y’all hear it. We don’t really hear it,” Holiday said. “The only teams I know about is Boston and the Lakers. But again, we don’t really pay attention to that.”

Just recently, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo have expressed their desire to attract Davis to their teams. This comes with no surprises at all as the Pelicans big man has been carving a blazing trail in the league, buoyed by impressive all-around numbers.

It's actually surprising that Anthony Davis hasn't hinted at any thought of demanding a trade from the team given he has only won a single playoff series with the franchise.
