New Orleans Pelicans stretch forward Nikola Mirotic now has two incentives to score over 30 points this season in games. The first, obviously, is that it will help his team win in the rugged Western Conference. The second? It will get him some free wine from teammate Jrue Holiday.

Mirotic scored 30 points in the Pelicans' season-opening win against the Houston Rockets, and then notched 36 points versus the lowly Sacramento Kings in the second game. Holiday, knowing that Mirotic is a big part of the team's success, has promised to give Mirotic his favorite type of wine when Niko scores 30 or more points this season.

Was getting punched by former Chicago Bulls teammate Bobby Portis last season in training camp the best thing to have ever happened to Nikola Mirotic? Ever since that infamous punch, Mirotic has been a completely different player. He's no longer taking erratic shots from distance, hestiting on his jump shots, and is actually showing the ability to be a competent defender.

Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis gets double-teamed all the time in the post, freeing up Mirotic for wide-open looks from beyond the arc. In 32 career games with New Orleans, Mirotic is averaging 15.8 points while shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 36.0 percent from 3-point range.
