New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball is hyping up his teammate Josh Hart's video game skills.

Ball spoke about Hart's pixelated tenacity in a feature on NBA stars' involvement in esports via Tyler Erzberger in ESPN.com:

“The biggest gamer I know personally is Josh Hart,” said Lonzo Ball at PUBG Mobile's Team Up Superstar Showdown event. “Just being around him, I know he is streaming all the time. He loves games to this day.”

Hart, 24, was a draft-night acquisition by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017 after he was selected 30th overall by the Utah Jazz. The rising junior and shooting guard played two seasons with the Lakers before he, Ball, and teammate Brandon Ingram were sent to the New Orleans Pelicans in the Anthony Davis trade.

Erzberger goes on about Hart's love of video games:

The first video game he played was NBA Street on the Nintendo Gamecube, which released in 2002 when he was only 5 years old. His love for sport-simulation games such as NBA 2K continues, as he plays whenever he can.

NBA 2K is a popular console and PC game for both hoops fans and players, as the professional athlete jockey for better individual ratings for their virtual selves. The feature on Hart and other NBA stars' place in the esports world comes fresh off the heels of 16-year-old Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf's $3 million winnings at multiplayer battle royale shooter game Fortnite's World Cup.

Hart, along with Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson, appeared at Fortnite's Pro-Am in June.
