Lonzo Ball does not appear bothered when his father LaVar Ball attacked him during a recent episode of their reality show: “Ball in the Family.” While discussing business matters, father and son butted heads while discussing a viable strategy to bring Big Baller Brand back from the grave, which only turned into the older Ball chastising the New Orleans Pelicans point guard for his poor record of health in the league.

Lonzo admitted the previously tight-knit relationship with his father is not what it used to be, but appears to have freed himself from the grip of his father, not taking any real offense to his words or actions.

“That's part of life. I'm growing up. He has his ways, I have mine. We just got into it,” said Lonzo during an interview with Andrew Lopez of ESPN. “That's what fathers and sons do as time goes on. At the end of the day, it's always love at the end. I know he loves me, I love him. We're just not always going to agree on everything. That's all it was.”

LaVar seems to have shifted his attention into his next would-be prodigy, his youngest son LaMelo, who now could threaten to take the top spot as the No. 1 overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft. That itself would provide Lonzo with the freedom to thrive away from the spotlight and develop into the player most thought he would become upon being drafted with the second overall pick in 2017.
