The sleeve of tattoos New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball has on his left arm is legendary.

Ball's entire left arm is filled with “black excellence” tattoos. The Pelicans guard got portraits of Rosa Parks, Jackie Robinson, Malcolm X, Harriet Tubman, Barack Obama and Martin Luther King Jr. in unbelievable detail.

In a recent interview with Pelicans.com's Jim Eichenhofer, Ball talked about his unique left arm sleeve:

“Every tattoo means something to me … People like the portraits on my left arm,” the Pelicans guard said. “I got it because of black excellence. I’ve been through a lot the last couple years, but it’s nothing compared to what they went through. I just look at my arm and get motivated.

“All of my tattoos have meaning, so I can’t pick a favorite one. The first one I got was on my wrist. (It reads) ‘Motivated by Jesus, dedicated to the game.' “

This shows the maturity of Ball. Despite being only 22, the Pelicans star isn't naive; he knows where he'd be right now if the likes of Rosa Parks, Jackie Robinson, Malcolm X, Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther King Jr. didn't fight for African American rights.

After all, there's no way Barack Obama becomes the first African American president without the help and courage of the aforementioned legends.

Ball and the Pelicans are currently on a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic suspending the NBA. In the same interview with Pelicans.com, Ball said he's been hanging out at home with his daughter during the work stoppage.

Lonzo and the Pelicans were in 10th place prior to the season getting suspended.
