The New Orleans Pelicans have officially begun to take trade inquiries on superstar forward Anthony Davis and, needless to say, they have options.

New Orleans' official Twitter account tweeted out a humorous clip in response to the likely barrage of calls they have received regarding Davis' availability:

The clip–which is from the hit comedy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia–accurately conveys the Pelicans' current situation in terms of trade flexibility.

David Griffin and co. have already stated that they would probably look to involve multiple teams in any trade centering around Davis, and with teams like the Lakers and Celtics hoping to acquire Davis on their own, the chaos that might ensue is to be expected.

ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Lakers have already discussed parting ways with the No. 4 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft–along with assets–in an effort to acquire Davis:

The fourth pick might be a key determinant, given that the Pelicans already rebuffed the Lakers' offer at the trade deadline.

Davis has made it known that his preferred destinations would be with the Lakers or the Knicks, but the Pelicans hold all the cards…and all the confusion too.
