Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade only needs one word to describe New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson.

During an IG live session with fans on Friday, Wade says the new face of the Pelicans franchise is a “monster.”

“Monster,” Dwyane Wade said about Zion Williamson. “Literally like watching him play in the NBA is like going back and watching highlights of him in seventh grade and college. He's a monster.”

Through the first 19 games of his NBA career, Williamson was averaging 23.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists for the Pelicans. The No. 1 overall pick from the 2019 NBA Draft out of Duke missed the beginning of his pro career after undergoing left knee surgery to address a meniscus issue.

Since making his NBA debut against the San Antonio Spurs, Williamson has been efficient. The Pelicans star is shooting 58.9 percent from the floor, 46.2 percent from beyond the arc and 64.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pelicans went 10-9 with Williamson in the lineup prior to the season getting suspended following Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert's positive coronavirus test.

If the 2019-20 season resumes, New Orleans will be in 10th place in the Western Conference standings. The Pelicans would be fighting with the Portland Trail Blazers to catch the Memphis Grizzlies for the eighth seed.

Williamson was a beast in high school and college. Now, it appears Zion is going to dominate the NBA with the Pelicans for the next decade or so assuming he stays healthy.
