Duke star Zion Williamson is likely heading to New Orleans this June. Unfortunately, he hasn't been to the city yet.

The New Orleans Pelicans, surprisingly, got the No.1 pick in the recently concluded 2019 NBA Draft Lottery. They are expected to select Zion, who has been the consensus top pick of this year's draft.

After the draft lottery results, Williamson spoke with Marc Fortier of NBC10 Boston and confirmed that he's not familiar with The Big Easy — which will probably be his home at the the beginning of his career.

Zion was reportedly rooting to go to New York and join the Knicks. However, with the team dropping to third in the draft, it's unlikely he'll land to The Big Apple. The Memphis Grizzlies are selecting second.

Fortunately for Williamson, the Pelicans have long been interested in getting him. In fact, recent reports suggested that the team was considering trading for him if the Knicks got the top pick in the draft.

New Orleans is a small market, and compared to New York, the lights are less brighter. However, it could also be a good opportunity for Zion to develop his game without the scrutiny that comes with playing in unarguably the biggest NBA market.
