Zion Williamson has signed an endorsement deal with sports drink giant Gatorade, now his fourth major sponsorship after inking contracts with sneaker and sports clothing retailer Jordan Brand, trading card and collectable staple Panini and the popular video game franchise NBA 2K.

“Gatorade has been in my life and in the locker room throughout my entire life. I’ve seen how important fueling and hydration are to my performance,” Williamson told Kurt Badenhausen of Forbes this week. “I like the vision they have for the small things I can do to increase my performance. The smallest things can add up and become something great.”

“He is such a unique talent and his game is so multidimensional that it is hard to define him right now. We see that in our brand,” said Gatorade’s global head of sports marketing Jeff Kearney.

Williamson has become a must-buy stock in the league, perhaps the singlemost attractive package of likability and sheer athleticism since LeBron James in 2003. Much like James, Williamson possesses those physical gifts along with tremendous upside to win the Rookie of the Year award and make himself not only an All-Star, but one of the most dominant and physically-imposing players in the NBA.

It's surely a no-brainer move by Gatorade to hammer out a deal with one of the most visible and sought-after talents in the NBA.

While the financial terms were not disclosed, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft is expected to net seven figures annually after inking this deal.
