New Orleans Pelicans general manager David Griffin is going to do his best to convince Anthony Davis to stay because he believes he can create a ‘Big 3' of Davis, Jrue Holiday and Zion Williamson in The Big Easy, according to Marc Berman of The New York Post.

The Pelicans are expected to draft Williamson with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Davis is one of the best players in the league and Holiday is an elite two-way guard. A Big Three of AD, Holiday and Williamson would strike fear into opponents.

According to the source, Griffin still believes he can have as good a Big 3 in the NBA next season in Davis, Zion Williamson and star combo guard Jrue Holiday — especially if Kevin Durant bolts Golden State.

Davis is under contract for the 2019-20 season, so the Pelicans are under no obligation to honor his trade request. Griffin, who has a strong relationship with Davis' agent Rich Paul, is going to meet with AD soon to discuss his future.

Davis played in 56 games in the 2018-19 campaign. The six-time All-Star averaged 25.9 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.4 blocks.

Holiday appeared in 67 games before the Pelicans shut him down due to surgery. The combo guard put up 21.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists.

At Duke, Williamson averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists. His nuclear athleticism has made him the most talked about NBA prospect since LeBron James. A Big 3 with Holiday and Williamson is something AD should think about.
