New Orleans Pelicans rookie center Jaxson Hayes set the bar high for Summer League highlight of the year with a nasty poster dunk on Monday night. The dunk set social media on fire, eliciting wild reactions from all corners of the Internet.

Hayes got a chance to offer his reaction to the dunk on Tuesday, along with teammate Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

The 19-year-old is already playing the part of seasoned NBA vet in his interviews, deflecting the compliments on to his Pelicans teammate even though his dunk might be one of the best in Summer League history.

Even though the dunk was breathtaking, no one can say it came as a surprise. Hayes, the eighth pick in this years draft, was praised by scouts for his insane athleticism even before he was drafted.

It seems like Hayes could follow in the footsteps of another Texas Longhorn who has impressed the league. Like Jarrett Allen, Hayes is a bouncy 6-foot-11 center with a penchant for racking up blocks and throwing down vicious lobs.

In his only year at Texas, Hayes averaged ten points a game to go along with two blocked shots and five rebounds. He shot an outstanding 73 percent from the floor.

There is no doubt that this isn't the last highlight play we see out of Jaxson Hayes. Within a few months, we'll be seeing Hayes take the floor with phenom Zion Williamson and finishing lob passes from Lonzo Ball.
