Philadelphia Phillies star outfielder Bryce Harper has been orchestrating one fine under-the-radar campaign this season. Now, he is finally earning some well-deserved recognition after achieving a notable accomplishment.

Heading into the Phillies' four-game series against the Nationals, Harper sat at 248 career home runs. He slugged his 249th home run in the second game of the series en route to a 5-4 win by Philadelphia.

In fitting fashion against his former team, Harper notched the 250th home run of his career today.

Even as plenty of Nationals fans are still bitter about him leaving the team for an NL East rival, some of them must be pleased to see the 2015 NL MVP Award winner achieve this notable personal feat.

Overall, Harper joined Albert Pujols, Miguel Cabrera and Mike Trout as the only active players to record at least 250 career home runs before their 29th birthday.

Harper may not be among the top leaders in home runs in the National League this season, but at the least, he is well on pace to notch yet another campaign with at least 25 home runs recorded. More so, he could have a chance at slugging his 300th career home run sometime next season, which is a feat that he certainly can achieve.

As mentioned, Harper is posting one under-the-radar campaign this season. It is not a longshot anymore that he could possibly sneak his way into a top-five finish in the 2021 National League MVP voting.

Harper's stats certainly back up a possible case for him to top out in the top five for this illustrious award.

If Harper can lead the Phillies to a playoff berth this season, then NL MVP voters may certainly fetch him some top-five votes for this award, which would be well-deserving for the six-time All-Star at this stage in his notable career.
