Detroit Pistons assistant coach Tim Hardaway has received a three-game suspension after pleading no contest to drunken driving charges last month, according to the NBA's announcement on Friday.

The 50-year-old Hardaway faces suspension after an incident in April in Beverly Hills, where he had a 0.17 blood-alcohol level, enough to enter the “super-drunk” offense in the state of Michigan after having twice the legal amount of alcohol permissible.

Having refused the breath test initially, Hardaway’s license was suspended for a year, starting July 9. His lawyer has petitioned to have his license reinstated so he can drive to and from work.

The former All-Star was sentenced to 18 months of probation and 10 days of community service following his plea. Hardaway was hired by the Pistons in 2014, shortly after Stan Van Gundy was hired to coach the team.

Tim Hardaway played 13 NBA seasons, but is most remembered as a member of “Run T-M-C” alongside Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin with the Golden State Warriors back in the early 90s.
