Despite having one of the most memorable seasons of his career with the Detroit Pistons, most people still look back at Blake Griffin's time in Motor City as a flop. This is exactly what the Brooklyn Nets star pointed out in a recent rant as he recalled his tenure with the Pistons.

In an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, Griffin shared his true feelings about his time in Detroit. There appeared to be a hint of sarcasm in the 32-year-old's tone as he highlighted his accomplishments during his resurgent year with the Pistons (h/t NBA on ESPN on Twitter):

“The 2018-19 season… I was an All-Star, All-NBA, I dunked a few times, played in the playoffs injured, but yeah… I'd hate me too, Detroit,” Griffin said.

During the 2018-19 campaign, Griffin had one of the best seasons of his entire career. The former Rookie of the Year winner averaged a career-best 24.5 points (on 46.2 percent shooting), 7.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and a career-high 2.5 triples per game. This deservedly earned him a spot on the All-Star team for the first time in four years, while also leading the Pistons to a playoffs berth for only the second time in a full decade.

Unfortunately, injuries got in the way and Griffin had a forgettable next couple of years in Detroit. Ironically, this is what most folks choose to remember. Every now and again, though, Blake Griffin also wants to remind the naysayers of what he accomplished with the Pistons.
