Detroit Pistons point guard Derrick Rose has missed the previous three games due to a hamstring strain.

The Pistons announced on Thursday that Rose continues a treatment and rehabilitation regimen. His progress for a return to action will be monitored on a day-to-day basis:

After defeating the New York Knicks on Wednesday at home, the Pistons improved to 4-5 on the young season. All-Star center Andre Drummond has been playing like a superstar in the absence of Blake Griffin, Reggie Jackson and Rose.

In six games this season, Rose is averaging 20.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists. The former MVP is shooting 56.2 percent from the field and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pistons are anxious to get Rose and Griffin back. Odds are both guys won't play on Friday against the Indiana Pacers, but we could see Rose and Griffin back on the court next week assuming they don't suffer any setbacks in their rehabs.

Detroit made the playoffs last season for the first time since 2016. Once Griffin and Rose come back and find their rhythm on the court, the Pistons should be able to compete for another playoff berth.

As of Thursday, Detroit is in the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
