Thursday featured a preseason matchup between the Detroit Pistons and the Washington Wizards, which got a little bit feisty. Pistons forward Blake Griffin got into it with Wizards big man Thomas Bryant, but as it turns out, Griffin had no intention of getting into a preseason fist fight with a rather heated Bryant.

Here's a look at the tussle, which resulted in Griffin hilariously laughing off Bryant's Fight Club invitation (h/t Jonathan Deutsch on Twitter):

To be fair to Bryant, Griffin did throw him to the ground — like a ragdoll, if I may say — which prompted a flagrant one for the Pistons vet. Bryant clearly did not appreciate the UFC-like throw down, and wanted to get some one-on-one action against Griffin, who by the way just spent $6 million for a second, “smaller” home right behind his $19 million estate.

Chill out guys, this is just a preseason game. Then again, it's nice to see the competitive spirits boiling up at this point in the season.

Detroit came away with the victory in this one, 97-86, with Griffin managing just two points, five rebounds, and three assists in 26 minutes of action. For his part, Bryant finished with 11 points, eight boards, three assists, a steal, four blocks, five turnovers, and a bruised ego.

The Pistons are now 2-1 in the preseason following a loss and a win against the New York Knicks in their first two games. They close out their offseason with a rematch against the Wizards on Saturday, and that matchup could present itself as an opportunity for Griffin and Bryant to mend fences — or maybe not.
